21-DAY WHOLE FOOD CLEANSE
Informational Presentation
Thursday, April 27th at 5:30 p.m.
The 21-day Whole Food Cleanse is designed to assist people in taking control of their health. The goal is to help jump start and reset your body to nutrient dense food rather than sugar laden, processed food. This cleanse is intended to provide your body with the RIGHT energy it requires to its full capacity as well as the opportunity to rid your body of built-up toxins. This cleanse will also be a good opportunity to help determine if you have food sensitivities or allergies. Do you suffer from chronic diarrhea, upset stomach, eczema, fatigue, bloating, gas, mood swings, or migraines? These are some of the symptoms of food allergies and sensitivities.
The cleanse in not intended to be calorically restrictive, leaving you hungry. The idea is to shift what you are eating, and when you are eating it. The approved food list will completely satiate you, help your body detoxify and rid itself of all the “stuff” stuck inside of you, give you energy, and assist with weight loss.
Please call to pre-register by Wednesday, April 19th.

Offered by the Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice:  FALL PREVENTION PROGRAM
Unintentional falls are a threat to the independence and health of adults ages 65 and older. Every 18 seconds, an older adult is treated in an emergency department for a fall, and every 35 minutes someone dies as a result of their injuries.
Although one in three older adults falls each year in the United States, falls are not an inevitable part of aging. Falls are often preventable through strengthening and balance training, education, and improving home safety. These proven prevention strategies
can help older adults live longer, have greater independence and increase the chance of remaining in their own homes.
The Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice, in cooperation with the Easthampton Council on Aging would like to invite you to participate in a free educational series of six “Falls Prevention” sessions at the Easthampton Council on Aging, 19 Union Street, Easthampton on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. on May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1 and 8. VNA physical and occupational therapists will lead sessions on determining your own risk of falling, strengthening exercises,
balance activities, managing your medications, visual concerns, and home safety recommendations.
To reap the full benefits of this program, participants will be asked to commit to attending all 6 one-hour sessions. Practical items such as strengthening devices, medication organizers and visual aids will be distributed to series participants. All participants will receive a copy of the exercise program on DVD. The sessions and items are free of charge, supported by a grant from Tufts Health Plan Foundation.
Please contact the Easthampton Council on Aging at (413) 527-6151 for more information and to pre-register.
