Volunteering

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available at the Easthampton Enrichment Center and other local organizations. We currently have over 88 active volunteers who provide over 8000 hours of service each and every year.
What do Easthampton Enrichment Center volunteers do?
Our volunteers hold the following positions: Board Members, Nurse, Brown Bag Assemblers and Deliverers, Companions, Computer Data Entry, SHINE Counselors, Friends Members, AARP Tax Counselors, Receptionists, Newsletter Deliverers, Bingo Callers, Professional Clowns, Activities Assistants, Van Driver, House Number Installer, Book Club Group Leader, Recreation Group Leader, Travel Club Group Leaders, Lunch Helpers, Clerical, Newsletter Assemblers, Bakers, Crafters, and Osteoporosis Exercise Instructor.

The Easthampton Council on Aging Enrichment Center has the following volunteer openings.
The Enrichment Center is seeking volunteers for the following positions:
1. VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST: The Enrichment Center is seeking 2 volunteer receptionists for 4 hours/week from 12-4 p.m. Receptionist answer a 2-line phone system, make reservations for trips, activities and other events, and much more. This volunteer position requires someone who can multi-task, handle stress and who has excellent customer service skills and patience. Please call Linda Talbot at 413-527-6151.

2. GARDEN VOLUNTEERS: The Enrichment Center gardens do not take care of themselves!! We need your assistance in helping to maintain the beautiful gardens at the Enrichment Center.Volunteers assist with watering, weeding, trimming and cutting, planting and supervising the group from Honor Trial Court Program. If you can spare a few hours one-time only or on a more regular basis, please contact Activity Coordinator, Kim Jensen at 413-527-6151 for additional information/details.

3. EVENT VOLUNTEER
The Enrichment Center is seeking an Event Volunteer who can assist Kim Jensen, Activity & Event Coordinator with setting up, organizing and cleaning up after events and special activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Kim Jensen at 413-527-6151.

4. SENIOR TRANSPORTATION VOLUNTEER
Volunteer drivers are needed immediately to assist clients with transportation to/from medical appointments, hairdresser/barber, pharmacy, shopping and more. Volunteers can receive mileage reimbursement of $.54/mile to help offset the cost of using your own vehicle. A clean driving record and CORI required. Call Linda Talbot at 527-6151.

Other Volunteer Opportunities:
Highland Valley Elder Services in collaboration with AARP Foundation is looking for open-minded, compassionate, and patient volunteers with good budgeting, organizational, and supporting skills to help manage the finances of older low-income individuals who want assistance. If this has described you, and you have a few hours a month to volunteer, our Money Management Program will train and match you with someone in your community who needs help to manage their everyday finances.
